Founders Nikita Gibson & Moné-Renata Holder, approached us with the concept for their business, Castalia. As with any project, we started with diligent research and knew we would thoroughly enjoy the process. Castalia was a nymph whom Apollo transformed into a fountain at the base of Mount Parnassos in Delphi. Castalia could inspire the genius of poetry to those who drank her waters or listened to their quiet sound and the sacred water was also used to clean the Delphian temples.

Gaining insight, we realized that Pythia played an important role in this story. Commonly known as the Oracle of Delphi, Pythia was the name of the high priestess of the Temple of Apollo, who served as the most prestigious and authoritative oracle among the Greeks. She was consulted about important decisions throughout the ancient classical world and would often cleanse herself to gain the inspiration needed from Castalia before giving oracles.

In essence, Pythia's precision in her oracles was due to the divine intervention from Castalia, and when combined they created a powerful outcome. It’s at this point we had our eureka moment to create a goddess.

The crown on Pythia’s head traditionally represents power, legitimacy, honor, immortality, and righteousness. The gemstone is symbolical of Castalia’s influence on Pythia’s wisdom and encapsulated our Goddess in the brand color Tory Blue. We modified the classic serif font, Times New Roman giving it a unified Greek aesthetic.
