TRANSART is a non-profit multi-disciplined arts organization providing programming year-round that builds communities, address critical social issues, and takes advantage of new resources to infuse art and culture into the civic life of people of African descent along the Hudson River Valley. Their educational focus includes arts-based after-school programs, curriculum-based arts-in-education programs, and staff development for public schools.

Established in 1990 by Greer Smith, TRANSART’s exhibition home was the library at Medgar Evers College/CUNY in Brooklyn, New York but moved its headquarters to the Mid-Hudson Valley in 1996 to underscore their commitment to enhance the cultural environment of communities of color, and fill the need for better access to culture and art to segments of the population that have historically been underserved throughout the Hudson River Valley.

Greer reached out to us to have the identity updated due to the perceived connotation of "trans" in the organization's name in recent years. We aimed to neutralize the brand by creating an abstract logomark with an unsaturated, dark-cold azure, we call River Bed as the color pallet. This combination of the abstract mark and color choice shows creativity and intelligence which helps the overall brand to achieve its goals.
